My vision and goals are to inspire and motivate challenging individuals towards becoming productive and responsible people in their communities.

 

Through overcoming obstacles in my own life experiences made me want to make a difference in my community. My first steps were to continue my education. I received my bachelors degree in human services and my Masters degree in counseling.I also hold certificates for assistant teaching and school counselor from the  New York City Board of education.

 

Worked in the social services field for over 15 years.

 

Served for 6 years as a substitute teacher with New York City Board of Education.

 

Worked as a prevention counselor for at risk youth and children with emotional and learning disabilities.

 

Worked for New York City Rikers Island Correctional facility for 2 years,in the adolescent gangs unit.developed pilot program to empower and educate urban at risk youth.

 

Worked as a mental ill and chemical addition counselor for Creedmoor Psychiatric Center in Queens village Elmurst New York.

 

Developed treatment plans psycho-social assessments and progress notes.
